Drogheda Cycling calls for new use of Abbey Centre site

28 June 2025

What to do with the Abbey Shopping Centre? Why not take inspiration from Limerick's Milk Market and develop an indoor market for Drogheda? And while you're at it, why not an indoor playground too. Limerick is a really good example of how to turn an open space into a benefit for the city - with a big tent protecting visitors from the elements at a modest cost.

We need more attractions to bring people into the town centre - car parks by themselves aren't attractions.
